Some important things to consider are location, available shade from the hot Georgia sun, water stations for humans and dogs, places to sit during your visit, and the overall condition of the park.

The following options provide an overview of dog parks near Atlanta, GA:

Piedmont Dog Park: 4.6 Stars

Piedmont Dog Park is located on the northern edge of the city, at Park Drive North East, Atlanta, GA 30309. The Park is open from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM, seven days per week, with no entrance fee or membership required. For more information, you can call (404) 875-7275 or visit piedmontpark.org.

Room for Dogs to Run and Play

Visitors to the Park will enjoy new trails and landscaping, shaded areas, dog water fixtures, benches, and restrooms. Be sure to look for the King of Pops concessionaire offering Dog Popsicle when visiting the Park on weekends.

Fun Activity Options for Your Dog

The dog park is part of the larger Piedmont Park Conservancy. The Conservancy offers a splash pad, a lake for fishing (but no swimming for people or dogs), a reading circle, and plenty of green space for relaxing or having a picnic.

There are numerous restrooms available, but two are currently closed to the public.

Fetch Park: 4.6 Stars

Fetch Park is located close to the Atlanta BeltLine in the historic Old Fourth Ward neighborhood at 520 Daniel Street South East, Atlanta, GA 3031. Fetch Park is open Sunday – Thursday from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM and offers extended weekend hours Friday and Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM.

You can email the Park at memberships@fetchparkatl.com or visit their website at fetchpark.com.

  • No contract “Month to Month” plan: $40/Month
  • Twelve-month commitment billed monthly: $30/Month
  • Yearly membership billed annually: $275/Year
    • Adding a second dog: $150/Year

Dogs who come to this dog park must have the following health requirements met:

  • Must be at least four months old and spayed or neutered if eight months or older
  • Clean and free of fleas and ticks
  • Up to date on vaccinations such as rabies, DHLPP (including Lepto), and Bordetella with current vet records on file

Exploring the Park is Free

If you wish to explore this dog park near Atlanta without a dog, the entrance fee is waived. Once inside the park, you can take advantage of Fetch Park’s full-service bar, outdoor televisions, and Wi-Fi.

However, you will not want your dog to miss out on the Park’s water-trough cooling stations and friendly attendants, also known as Bark Rangers.

Another nice perk found in the Park is the dog bath areas that allow you to freshen up your pup before taking them home after running and playing.

Ormewood Dog Yard: 4.6 Stars
