Alexa Dean

Veterinary Assistant

Since 2016

Alexa Dean

Alexa grew up in south Florida, but moved to Georgia to attend the University of Georgia in 2011. She graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish with plans to work in the marine biology field.  To further follow her dream, Alexa moved to the Florida Keys and was a research intern at the Dolphin Research Center observing mother and calf development of Bottlenose dolphins. This was where Alexa discovered her interest in dealing with the medical aspect of animal care. She moved back home to Jupiter (yes it's a real town), FL to work at a small animal veterinary hospital to gain experience. In January 2016, Alexa found her way back to Georgia to be closer to her boyfriend who is finishing school in Athens. Currently, she does not have any pets of her own due to a very small apartment, however, she has puppy fever and hopes to adopt one soon. In her spare time, Alexa loves anything outdoors, cooking, and being active.

Why she does this:  "I have always had a love for animals and am so excited that I get the chance to help them on a daily basis".

jennifer pabien

Jennifer and her daughter moved to Atlanta from Pensacola, FL in 2011.  While living in Pensacola, Jennifer had her first job working in veterinary medicine as a veterinary assistant at a small practice providing care to zoo animals and exotics.  Since moving back to Atlanta, Jennifer has worked at various animal hospitals, “looking for that same homey vet feel” she experienced in Pensacola.  She said she has found that at TVV Buckhead.  She is currently studying Interior Design at Georgia State University and said that even though she may not be working in the animal care industry in the future, she plans to continue fostering and finding homes for rescue animals.  She has a golden retriever named Buttercup, whom she says is a good helper with her foster pets – and also has three cats, Alice, Blossom, and Bug – whom are good at tolerating the foster pets.

Why she does this:  “My love of animals has been a passion of mine since childhood, and working in a vet has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager”.

During Kevin's carrier as a marine, he went on two combat deployments - one to Afghanistan.  Kevin said the marines helped turn him into a man and taught him what is important in life.  In 2012, Kevin moved back to Kennesaw, GA and said he instinctively knew he wanted to do something medical that also involved animals. In 2013 he rescued a pitbull mix named Don Juan, who is now his best friend and workout partner.  In his spare time, he and his dog Don Juan enjoy running endurance obstacle marathons to improve physical health.
